Celebration of Life for Guy Upjohn, Dedicated Friend of the Library

Message from the John W. Graham Library to the Trinity College community:

Earlier this year, Guy Upjohn, long-time supporter of Graham Library and dedicated member of the Friends of the Library, passed away. As a volunteer, he followed his passions in the book arts community by working with the Friends of the Library. He fundraised, collaborated on library exhibitions and, with his desktop publishing know-how, produced a multitude of ephemera and promotional materials for the Friends of the Library, including the iconic Little Red Man logo for the Trinity College Book Sale. Guy and his wife Sandra made a number of generous contributions to the library’s rare and special collections by donating books collected by Sandra’s father, J. Kemp Waldie, a noted bibliophile, with a keen eye for beautiful printed books. The Upjohn-Waldie Collection encompasses a wide range of unique items including incunabula and other early printed books, key examples of twentieth-century fine printing, and early works on Canadian history, and we often feature them in exhibits and instructional sessions.

There will be a Celebration Of Life for Guy Upjohn on April 19, 2026 from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm in the Combination Room at Trinity College.
