Trinity College operates in Federation with the University of Toronto, which also means that all Trinity College students are bound by the policies developed by theÌýGoverning CouncilÌýof the University of Toronto. : On January 24, 2019, Trinity CollegeÌýBoard of Trustees approved the adoption of theÌýÌýto apply to Trinity College.

Support related to cessation – the university offers support for faculty, staff and students who want to quit smoking:

• Staff and faculty have access to Green Shield’s smoking-cessation program, which includes some drug coverage and pharmacist counselling, as well as an e-course available through the university’sÌý.
• For students, smoking-cessation programs are available through the Health and Wellness Centres at the St. George campus and U of T Scarborough, and the Health and Counselling Centre at U of T Mississauga.

Trinity College was established by Royal Charter and operates as a publicly-funded educational institution. With this comes the obligation to transparency of operations and fair, equitable practice where community standards, and in some cases, legal responsibilities, are fulfilled. Membership at Trinity College is by personal choice and governance structures exist to ensure sound operation of the College.
